ETHICAL RESPONSIBLITIES TO CHILDREN

1 (I-1.9)- To advocate for and ensure that all children, including those with special needs, have access to the support services needed to be successful.

·         Significance: As a professional, it is important to provide all services and resources available.  This will assist in a child’s needs and education.

2 (I-1.12)- To work with families to provide a safe and smooth transition as children and families move from one program to the next.

·         Significance: Transitioning from Early Head Start to Head Start can be overwhelming for children and their families. There are many adjustments they may experience, such as: classroom size, students and new teachers. It is vital to ensure the transfer of all necessary paper work and request any needed in a timely manner.

3. (2.) We shall demonstrate the highest standards of personal integrity, truthfulness, and honesty in all

our professional activities in order to inspire the trust and confidence of the children and families

and of those with whom we work.

·         Significance: This is particularly important in order to succeed at assisting families and their children. Integrity and truthfulness are imperative aspects in order to receive trust and commitment.

Personal Childhood Web

This picture was taken right after my graduation. Starting from the bottom with me; My mom, Zulie, step-dad, Jaime, aunt Mary, and uncle Adolph.

 Mom

My mother has always been my greatest supporter. She is my best friend and is always there when I need her. No matter how small my problem may be, she always wants to hear about it and assists in anyway she can. 

Step-dad

Jaime has always gone out of his way to make sure I'm doing well and ensures my safety. He especially makes sure my vehicle is in tip top shape before I ever get on the road. He's always made himself available to listen to my stories, good or bad. 

Mary

My aunt Mary assisted in taking care of me when I was younger. I am often called her "4th child" because of how close we are. To this day we are still in constant contact. She, like my mother, are my advisers in all my endeavors. She encourages me to pursuit my dreams.

Adolph

My uncle Adolph has supported my educational career. He encouraged me with discipline and guidance. He often talked about how education was the key to success and self-fulfillment. It is his words and advice that have prompted me to continue higher education.

Dad

My father has always encouraged me to be who I am and to pursuit the best. As a child, he often mentioned how he wanted me to have an education. This is something he often regretted not pursuing. He encourages me with his loving words and support.

My brother, who is 5 years older, has always been there and looked out for me. I cherish every moment I get to spend with him.

Favorite Children's Book:


My favorite children's book is "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch. My mother gave me this book at the age of 3 and read it to me often. "Love You Forever" shows the evolving relationship between a mother and her son. This book taught me that no matter what age I am, I'll always have my mother by my side. For those who haven't read this yet, I highly recommend it!
